In case you or your management are wondering about Cadence's commitment to supporting the e language and/or Specman technology, allow us to direct your attention to this interview of Cadence Verification VP Mitch Weaver (who never worked for Verisity, BTW) by industry analyst Richard Goering.
As you'll see, with statements like, "Bottom line: cutting back on Specman/e would be like cutting our own throat", Mitch doesn't mince words about the depth of Cadence's commitment to our favorite platform.
Based on my recent interactions with local customers here using E heavily, they do not see any urge in moving away from E/Specman - they simply can not afford to loose the power of E for high-end verification. One team said: they have 45-day IP verification cycle, with such a crazy schedule there is not even scope to think of migrating to another solution with so many eVCs, code base in use within their org across world.
Another BIG customer, with full of CDN suite says, they get all assurance to continue with Specman and see no reason why CDN will kill it - it is making money even now!!
