Is there a way to create a schematic symbol and pcb footprint that has two pins that acts as a shorting bar on the PCB. There is a need for this to become a part of the PCB outer layer on which it is placed. The element needs to have the pins associate with the opposite ends of the feature. The idea is to have a physical shape that connects two power planes but necks down to a specific physical size that can be located at any arbitray place during layout. This would be instantiated in the schematic and have an input and output pins available in the schematic. Any help would be appreciated, especially detailed instructions that I could relay to the librarian and layout designer.
