I'm not sure what environment you're working in (Orcad or Virtuoso?) - but spectre can use IBIS models using the ibis_buffer component - which is also available in analogLib. See the documentation for more details (search in cdnshelp for ibis_buffer)

Thankyou for the quick reply.
Actually I am not using any spice tool from cadence currently. I am looking for a tool which is perfect for simulation of mixed signal systems. I have an Orcad 16.0 which have a license for a very few features. So, I want to update the license with more options. I am not sure about the tool I want to purchase just a orcad spectre license will help or have to go for Virtuso?

Given that you're using discrete components rather than doing IC design, I'd say you probably want Orcad with PSPICE which I believe also supports IBIS models (I'm sure it does, it's just not my product area so I don't know the details).
I'll move your question into a more appropriate forum.
Yes. One can use PSpice to simulate IBIS model with SPICE devices. You need to import IBIS model using Model Editor (SPICE modeling module of PSpice). This import process generates equivalent SPICE model. PSpice 16.6 release has enhanced support for IBIS devices. Details about this enhancement can be found at

I am trying to translate an IBIS file into a spice netlist file, but neither ibis2subckt and ibis_include commands do not work ! when I put these commands in Spectre command line, I receive ** Error : undefined command ibis2subckt**
During this process, I encountered with the following questions:
1. The command line in cadence is as well at the bottom of icfb window, isn't it?
2. Where I should copy my ibis file to be translated into a spice netlist file?
3. I do not know why the commands ibis2subckt and ibis_include do not work while they are provided in cdsnhelp documentations !
Could you please help me to solve this problem?
Thanks and regards,

Not really the best forum to ask questions about spectre and icfb/virtuoso. This forum is more for the PCB tools (e.g. Orcad Capture, Allegro, PSPICE etc) than the Custom IC tools - go to Custom IC Design forum for that.
As I had already told you in the private message reply, the ibis2subckt command needs to be used at the UNIX prompt.
ibis_include is used within a spectre netlist. You can also find out about the ibis_buffer by typing "spectre -h ibis_buffer" at the UNIX prompt.
