I have been trying to build a 3 slotted padstack with only one pin and two mechanical slots. The pin is identified as the 'hot" pin and the other two slots are null mechanical slots. I then laid top and bottom etch to assure continuity. I then brought the part into a drawing and to check it out I laid a dynamic shape. Well, the shape attached only only to my designated pin and not to the adjacent slots. What did I do wrong?
The restriction is that a mechanical pin will not connect to a copper shape. You need to make it a three connect pin symbol with pin1 and fix1, fix2, then in the schematic make a connection there and when you import the netlist you will have connections between the three pins. There are "workarounds" to make the shape connect to the pins with a combination of waive drc's and properties on pins but you really should make the connectivuty match your design intent.
