How do we exactly model a lossy transmission line in specctraquest so that all the losses such as dielectric losses and conductor losses are taken into consideration. Please note that I am using V15.2 (PCB SI 630). What steps are involved in doing so?
You will want to be sure you are setting a cutoff frequency so that the field solver will generate the frequency dependant RLGC matrices. This is done in the Preferences form under the InterconnectModels tab. The cross section form in Allegro PCB SI allows you to set the loss tangent and dielectric constant information. Normally this is based on the material chosen.
