How do we decide, what will be the SIZE of a STD cell SITE. Here is an example from a library:
SITE std_site SYMMETRY y ; CLASS core ; SIZE 0.20 BY 2.40 ;END std_site
If I browse through all the cells in library, the smallest cell is of size "SIZE 0.200 BY 2.40" Is that the criteria?
So if I have a library where the smallest STD Cell is 0.8 BY 2.4 then should I be using "SIZE 0.8 BY 2.4" in SITE info. If I do that them my utlilzation number are not correctly calculated. The placer stops due to high util.
Let me know.
Let me simplify what I am trying to do. I want to change the placement GRID from 0.2 to 0.8 by updating SITE info
SYMMETRY Y ;
CLASS CORE ;
SIZE 0.8 BY 2.4 ;
But does not seems to work.
