If I want to find out the n_width and p_width of a library cell (for example), can I open the .cdl file and add up the MN1, MN2, MN* .. w= to get the n_width and MP0, MP1, MP* ... w= to get the p_width.
In the below ecample for "cellA"
.SUBCKT cellA pin1 pin2MN2 ........ w=1u l=5u ....MN0 ........ w=2u l=6u ....MP0 ........ w=3u l=7u .....MP1 ........ w=4u l=8u ....ENDS
Will the n_width of the cellA be: 1+2 = 3u and p_width of the cellA be: 3+4 = 7u
Similarly will the n_length of cellA be: 5+6 = 11u and p_length be: 7+8 = 15u?
Anyone can throw light on this? This is the first time me reading a .cdl file.
CDL is a spice-like netlist format and does not necessarily represent the true width of the cell, if this is what you are trying to calculate. What does summing the N / P length/width give you, what are you looking for?
