The need for automatic mesh generation has never been clearer. The CFD Vision 2030 Study called most applied CFD “onerous” and cited meshing’s inability to generate complex meshes on the first attempt a roadblock. That’s where the Flashpoint suite of automation features in Cadence Pointwise Meshing was born.
In Pointwise V18.5, we introduce Flashpoint Automatic Volume Meshing. Like its predecessor in V18.4, Flashpoint Automatic Surface Meshing, the goal is to generate a suitable volume mesh given a minimum of goal-oriented parameters. Furthermore, Pointwise’s decades of meshing best practices are built-in to Flashpoint’s logic, resulting in a mesh that’s ready for CFD with little to no further tweaking.
