CadenceTECHTALK: Create Better Designs Faster with Data Analysis for CFD, 28 Mar

Automated design optimization supports the design engineer in finding better designs faster. A computerized approach that systematically searches the design space replaces manually evaluating several design choices. The focus and energy of the engineer shift from setting up and running simulations to better understanding and analyzing design spaces. In this webinar, we introduce design optimization solutions in Fidelity focusing on data analysis. Register now.

CadenceTECHTALK: Boost Your CFD Simulation Productivity with Python Programming in Fidelity

Register for this webinar that shows you how to boost CFD productivity, consistency, and reliability across your organization with Python scripting for Fidelity. In this webinar, we will explain Python programming in Fidelity, and how to start writing your Python scripts in minutes. We will share examples of a broad range of scripts for various applications. Register now.

Why GKN Aerospace Chose Fidelity Automesh

Ever since we started using Fidelity Automesh, we were able to divide our meshing time by five, allowing us to spend more time on post-processing and solving our real challenges," says an employee from the GKN Aerospace Engine Systems in Sweden. Read more.

Women in CFD with Kristen Karman-Shoemake

The 2023 new year edition of Women in CFD features Kristen Karman-Shoemake, lead product engineer at Cadence. So far, we have had women with backgrounds in mechanical/aerospace engineering and physics conquer the field of computational fluid dynamics (CFD), but Kristen stands out among those as she drives the CFD world with her graduate and undergraduate studies in mathematics and computational engineering. Read our conversation below to learn more about Kristen, her career journey, and her key advice for young graduates and interns planning to make a career in CFD. Read more.

Toyota Motorsports Increases Turbocharger Compressor Efficiency with Fidelity

Toyota Motorsports is a high-performance testing and development facility in Cologne, Germany. One of their focus points is chassis and engine design for automotive and motorsports. Being specialized in high-technology developments for motorsport engines, the turbocharger components are already state-of-the-art. To further improve performance, Toyota must rely on something other than traditional trial-and-error procedures and prototypes because turnaround times for those are too long. Numerical optimization enables engineers to explore and evaluate many more design alternatives than what can be achieved manually. Read more.

Glosten Predicts Barehull KRISO Containership Resistance Using Cloud Solutions

In this study, the Glosten team runs Fidelity Fine Marine simulations using UberCloud containers, assesses the performance of the available hardware, and compares it to resources currently used by the end user. The benchmark case was analyzed on local hardware, virtual instances from Amazon Web Services (AWS), and the bare metal cloud solution offered by CPU 24/7 and UberCloud. Read more.

Simulating Rotating Wheel Aerodynamics for the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge

Every two years, competitors worldwide set out on a grueling race across the Australian outback: the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge. This challenge is inclined towards promoting research on solar cars as a step towards sustainable transportation. Read more.

Compressor Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) with Fidelity

With soaring pollution in cities worldwide, legislators are demanding car manufacturers put systems on the market that are as clean and efficient as possible, whatever the driving style or conditions, from traffic jams to high-load mountain trips and in hot or cold weather. While alternative solutions, such as electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles, are on the rise, thermal engines are still very important in today’s transport portfolio, and to reduce CO2 levels, fuel consumption in all of those real-world usage conditions must be significantly limited.
