This Week in CFD

Welcome, CFDers, to a new year of CFD news, applications, software, events, and general fluid dynamics fun.

To pay the bills before jumping into this week's topics, there are two Cadence CFD events coming up that you really should register for.

  • New Features in Pointwise V18.5, live online on 25 Jan at 10a central. ICYMI, V18.5 launched with a new extension to our Flashpoint automation suite with Automatic Volume Meshing while at the same time Automatic Surface Meshing got some powerful updates.
  • Accelerate Innovation with the Omnis Automotive Wizard for CFD Simulations, online on 10 Feb at two times for North America and EMEA and India.

This is a detached eddy simulation (DES) for the DrivAer automotive benchmark model computed with the Omnis CFD suite.

In other CFD news you'll find...

  • A technology outlook for 2022. The good thing about polls and predictions is there's always something to question.
  • Lots of machine learning. If you're like me, ML is filling up your "to read" list.
  • Software launches and event updates which tells me the CFD world is returning to its normal cadence (pun intentional).

All this and more in This Week in CFD #460 over on Another Fine Mesh.

And don't forget to register for those two online events.
