If you are an RFIC designer then I hope you are planning on attending the 2009 RFIC Symposium and the International Microwave Symposium (IMS) which will be held in Boston, Massachusetts, as the centerpieces of Microwave Week 2009, scheduled from Sunday June 7 through Friday June 12, 2009.
The 2009 RFIC Symposium is one of the foremost IEEE technical conferences dedicated to the latest innovations in RFIC development for wireless and wire line communication ICs and emerging applications. Running in conjunction with the International Microwave Symposium and Exhibition, the RFIC Symposium adds to the excitement of Microwave Week with three days focused exclusively on RFIC technology and innovation.
If you are going and have not yet registered or made your hotel reservation, what are you waiting for?
The hotel registration closes on May 5, 2009. Get on line by going to either the RFIC Symposium website at www.rfic2009.org, or by going to the IMS website at www.ims2009.org, and clicking on registration. Early Bird Registration Period is from February 2nd to May 15th. The Advance Period is from May 16th to June 5th. After that, you'll have to register on-site.
The RFIC symposium will be held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center along Boston’s waterfront. The symposium begins on Sunday with workshops targeted at RF technology, design, and system issues. Sunday evening activities continue at 5:30 PM with the Plenary Session with two speakers who will share their views on the direction and challenges that the RFIC industry will be facing.
The first speaker, Christopher Snowden, Ph.D., Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK, will discuss “Cost-effective Semiconductor Technologies for RF and Microwave Applications.” The second speaker, George W. Everhart, CEO of Alien Technology Corporation, will discuss “Real world RFID Deployments: What Makes Them Work.”
Following the Plenary Session, RFIC will host the RFIC Symposium Reception at the Westin Grand Ballroom. This social event is a key component of the conference with the opportunity to connect with old friends and new acquaintances and catch up on the wireless industry.
This year the technical program includes 25 oral presentation sessions, an Interactive Forum (poster session), and two lunchtime panel sessions. The oral presentation sessions start on Monday and will continue on Tuesday. The poster session will be held on Tuesday afternoon. The poster session is the perfect place to have an opportunity to share more detailed technical discussions with the authors. A newly scheduled IMS Plenary Session will be held on Monday evening from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Panel Sessions are also planned at lunchtime on Monday and Tuesday. The RFIC Symposium concludes on Tuesday, allowing participants to attend the IMS and ARFTG as well as plenty of time to visit the exhibit hall.
Cadence is delighted to be a sponsor of the RFIC Symposium this year, and will again be exhibiting at the symposium along with a MicroApps session on the exhibition floor.
