&lt;p&gt;This &lt;strong&gt;activation ID&lt;/strong&gt; can be entered at first launch after installation or in the Admin Tool.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span style="color:#000000;"&gt;It can be used only once. When making changes to the computer configuration (including changes in the OS) may damage the activation =&amp;gt; de-activate in the Product (de-)activation tab (in the Admin Tool).&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If the software does not start, check the following:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The OS is supported (see the system requirements in the documentation)?&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;In the &lt;strong&gt;Trusted storage&lt;/strong&gt; tab in the License management section of the Admin Tool a line should be visible confirming the successful activation of the free student version.
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration:underline;"&gt;yes&lt;/span&gt;: go to the next check&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration:underline;"&gt;no&lt;/span&gt;: go to the Product (de-)activation tab and try to run the activation with the ID received by email. ATTENTION: the activation ID can be used only on one&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;The &lt;strong&gt;License server&lt;/strong&gt; tab in the same section should indicate that the server is up.
&lt;ul&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration:underline;"&gt;yes&lt;/span&gt;: the software should start. If that&amp;#39;s still not the case go to the Diagnostics section and check what else could be wrong.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;&lt;span style="text-decoration:underline;"&gt;no&lt;/span&gt;: If it is not running&amp;nbsp;&lt;span&gt;select &amp;quot;activate from license file(s)&amp;quot; and use the generic license file &amp;quot;c:\Program Files (x86)\License_management\any.lic&amp;quot;.&amp;nbsp;If you have limited permission on your machine, It is possible that you need to redo&amp;nbsp;this&amp;nbsp;step after a reboot.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
