How to reset the refdes in the HDL schematic and how can we assign ctrl refdes say R100-R150 in page 1 & R200-R250 in page2.
Also how can v find any component in the schematic..Using Global find r Ctrl-F i am not able to locate any component on the schematic..is their any ther option to do so..
I can't help you with resetting/changing the ref des.
But I can assist with finding parts. Yeah, it's totally lame to try and find a part by ref des in DEHDL. You do use Global Find. Put an asterik in the 'Name' box and check the 'Using Wild Card' checkbox. Then use the'With Properties' section. The property name will be LOCATION and the Value will be the ref des. That should work.
I've filed multiple SRs and getten several CCRs for a better way to find parts by ref des. Hopefully we'll see something soon. Does anyone know of any SKILL programs that will list components by ref des and nets by net name for DEHDL?

The refdes renaming is limited to when you export physical. You can use re-package, preserve or optimize. If you click the help button on the export physcial box you get a discription of what each does but basically preserve keeps what you already have, optimize repackages the design into a more compact physical design and repackage ignores any previous names and repackages (or resets) and starts again. Be warned if you use this mode with a board already done. It will renumber this.
Don't think there is a way of r1-r100 on page1 r2-r200 on page 2 etc. We used to number them manually.....
From the find point of view you can just type find refdes (ie find u100) and it will highlight on the page but it's on a page by page basis.

Thns for the reply...
How to reset the refdes..In my design (sample) i have two resistors R1 & R12(made it purposely) and i want to reset the refdes to ?....
Also while design reuse the refdes of components inside the reuse block will not change...Which inturn in the PCB we get the 2 blocks with same refdes..but this should not happen right and this should be eliminated during or before packaging itself..Can anybody let me know to do the same...
Truly Finding a component @ design level is difficult here..

I did find something on sourcelink that might help you. Log on and then do a search for 11552114 (Solution Number). That will help you reset all refdes to ?
Thnx for the reply..
but the refdes of design reuse blocks are not changed.. if i package and use this block in the pcb then the refdes in these two blocks will be changes which is due to schematic..any settings to be made for design reuse in schematic?
It's been a while since I used this but if memory serves me correctly there is an Advanced Button under export physical which has some settings for design reuse blocks. On the layout tab there is a reuse ref des numbers. Try deselecting that and then repackaging your design.
