I got a problem with the "place manual" function after installing Windows 7. The check boxes for selecting components or symbols in general does not appear on the sceen. This means I can not use the "place manual" function. Quickplace/autoplace works fine.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
For the projects im working on now, quickplace is OK to use. Is there any other way to place a mechanical symbol other than using the "place manual" function?
Orcad PCB Designer version 16.3. Windows 7 32-bit. The orcad programs is running with administrator rights.
Windows 7 offers a Large Scale (120 DPI) option. Tree controls don't work correctly at the higher DPI settings. To change to a lower resolution go to Control Panel Display Screen Resolution and pick "Make Text and Other Items Larger or Smaller". Select Smaller to get 96DPI. You can also disable this on a per program basis by Right Mouse Selecting Properties, Compatibilty Tab and selecting the "Display Setting At high DPI Settings" optionbut that method is harder.
