I would like to know if there is a command for
moving/distributing components so that the distance between them gets equal.
Example: Say that I make a rough placement of four
resistances. I use the align tool so that they are aligned at the same line.
Now I would like to make the distance between them the same. Are there a tool
and/or command line command for that?
I’m using Allegro
PCB Design XL 16.3.
Not currently. There is a skill file called align (search the forum for it) written by Silver John which will do what you need.
Or set your grid and origin and quickly snap the components to the new grid. There are some useful SKILL files for doing this in Cadence downloads directory
Component alignment will be enhanced in 16.6 to support equal spacing as well as compressing spacing to align with DFA constraints
In reply to edhickey:
Thank you all for your answers. I'll be changing my grid settings for now and wait for 16.6.
