I used MySQL as my local compent database.
Everything goes right until generating BOM.
A Error occurs as :
ERROR(ORCIS-6156): Unknown database field type
I am not sure what's wrong with OrCAD Capture CIS 16.6 has anyone met the same problem?
Maybe something worng with my Data type set in Mysql database,but I am not sure.

I have find someway to solve this probelm
I can copy all the properties from Part Proerty Editor and then paste it to Excel. Then I can Edit Excel file to get BOM.
Also there is another efficient way to generate BOM from Tools->Bill of materials , It seems do not care what's wrong with Database Type error.I find it is efficient to generate a BOM file with modifing the export file format like :
In property String
also you can write the format as what you want,and then import to Excel.
All roads to Roma.

I tried but it works!
I tried it just a minute ago in the fllowing steps:
I changed an Inductor's price in MySQL Database and then I find the inductor in my schematic.
Right-click the Inductor then select link database part and then open CIS Explorer
double-click the selected compent in CIS Explorer a update symbal warnning appear , click ok.
After above steps,I open the inductor's property finding that the price was changed.
So everything works fine with Tools>Bill of Materials .
Maybe thing goes like what you say.
But I think current solution already meet my requirement,If I met what situation like you said I would like to write a program like python script to handle it.
Can you explain about that how to connect the MySQL Database to Schematic Database.?

In general setup an odbc for your operating system like windows with odbc for MySQL,the next is same to local setup.
If you failed then try it again and again ,then you'll finally get it.
