I'd like to change component class in PCB Editor (16.2) with OrCAD Signal Explorer before extracting xnets.
The only way I could do it was to change the refdes and use setup advisor->device setup.
Is there an easier way to do this with this tier?
Just add the CLASS property to the parts in the schematic IC, IO or DISCRETE. Then this should be transferred as part of the netlist.
In reply to steve:
So there is no way around to alter the device class in Signal Explorer easily in this tier.
In reply to tltoth:
I'm not totally sure about 16.2 but in 16.6 all you need to do is to assign an espice model to your discrete devices and run dbdoctor then you will have xnets that can be extracted with OrCAD Signal Explorer
In reply to Ejlersen:
Hi,Well I used it to test the diff-pair from the device to the connector by assigning buffer model to the bus pins on the connector. But it was not straigthforward to modify the class from IO to IC in this old release. Thanks
