Our company uses a Part Number centric scheme for using parts. All parts are placed in Capture according to their Part Numbers. I need to pass this Part Number field from Capture to Allegro so that I can make a Pick and Place report that has the Part Number field populated. I have check the Orcad Capture allegro.cfg file and have set PART_NUMBER=YES and still can't get the attribute to passover during netlisting. Any ideas? Anything that I am missing? You need to set up one more feature in Allegro to get this to work. Go to the menu SETUP->PROPERTY DEFINITIONS and add a new one that you're importing and Allegro will recognize it.
This is correct, however PART_NUMBER is a reserved field in Allegro. I found out where my error was and am now able to pass the PART_NUMBER value from Orcad to Allegro. I had inadvertantly added PART_NUMBER=True into two sections of my allegro.cfg file and it was creating a conflict. Once I removed the second entry, everything worked fine. Thanks!
