I have looked at some previous posts and wanted to do the same, but
when I tried to execute,
I get a message,
ldd: Cadence/IC615/tools/dfII/bin/Xndx: No such file or directory
Is there any chance that this might be the reason for ADE XL to not run?
Or could anyone please point to reasons why it is not running?
In reply to Andrew Beckett:
I also tried virtuoso -32, but it didn't work. I will try your suggestion early tomorrow and will get back to you.
when I do the "virtuoso -nograph", it does not even launch the virtuoso window. Do you have any suggestions?
ohh wait..I see something.
*WARNING* Unable to open -nograph X Window Display "<hostname>:80"*WARNING* (using "exec /CADENCE/IC.6.15.509/tools.lnx86/dfII/../bin/cdsVncserver :80&").*WARNING* cdsXvnc output may be found in file $HOME/.vnc-cds/<hostname>:80.log*WARNING* Trying another display.
what can we infer from this?
In reply to navi2582:
It's not supposed to launch the Virtuoso window. That's the point... it's a "non-graphical" mode for Virtuoso, and this is what is being used for the background process. If you type "virtuoso -nograph" in a UNIX terminal, you should see:

And the last line is a prompt, at which you can type SKILL command (e.g. exit() to exit the virtuoso nograph session).
Did it do that?
Probably your best bet is to go to customer support as otherwise debugging via the forum could be tricky!
Did you look at the cdsXvnc output log to see if that said anything?
You might want to try experimenting with the environment variables CDS_XVNC_TENBASE and CDS_XVNC_OFFSET (search in cdnshelp for details on these). These allow alteration of the display range used.
I already opened a Service Request (#42922780) for this issue. I just wanted to take others opinion too so that it will faster to debug the problem. Initially I thought there was a problem with Monte Carlo simulation but later realised that I could not even run a simple simulation in ADE XL, which ADE L was able to run.
1) where can I find the cdsXvnc ouput log?
2) when executed "echo $CDS_XVNC_TENBASE" and "echo $CDS_XVNC_OFFSET", both resulted in Undefined variable. Are those already set or do I need to set?
Please let me know.

I see this in the log file,
/CADENCE/IC.6.15.509/tools.lnx86/bin/cdsXvncd: /lib/libgcc_s.so.1: version `GCC_4.2.0' not found (required by /CADENCE/IC.6.15.509/tools.lnx86/lib/libstdc++.so.6)
What OS (distribution and version) are you using?
when I run the "/IC.6.15.509/tools/bin/checkSysConf IC6.1.5", I got this:

oopsie..will not repeat it!!
I want to know if you solved your problem with ADE xl.
I have same problem, i can simulate with ADE but ADE xl doesn't work ?
wich design kit and OS are you using ?
