I am using Neocell in Cadence on a sun machine. I cannot find neocell setup wizard? Any suggestions where to look for it? or what wrong I could be doing?
If you recently upgraded to NeoCell v3.4 from v3.3 that would explain the issue. The NeoCell Setup wizard went away with v3.4. Please let me know if you need suggestions on how to get NeoCell setup for a variety of PDKs.Elias
Yes we have version 3.4 for neocell. I am using AMI 0.5um process via MOSIS. Please let me know if you have any suggestions for generating PDKs.
I am guessing that to get NEOcell PDK, I have to use GTE / PAS 3.1 in cadence. We as a university, do not get much support on NEOcell tools in terms of PDKs.
Please let me know any suggestions on generating PDKs for NeoCell.
Hello Shakeel,Yes, my two recommendations would be to ask your account team. Obviously as a university, you don't have one. The other recommendation would be to use GTE/PAS (the support of NeoCell v3.4 there was one of the reasons we removed the old NeoCell Technology Setup wizard). Neocell will be integrated with IC 6.1? If yes, then does it mean that we do not have to generate the configuration files from GTE/PAS right?
Hi Shakeel,Yes the NeoCell technology has been integrated with IC 6.1 (parts are in Virtuoso Layout Suite [VLS] XL and parts in GXL). And in that environment, you only need the OA technology file that you already need for the rest of IC6.1 to use it.Elias
