There must have been some typo when you tried it should have worked. Just open a layout cellview and type the command mentioned by me.You need to pass the coordinate of bounding box which can enclose the circle. For example, above has:lowerLeft -2:-2upperRight 2:2These coordinates can also be calculated based on a given center point and radius. For example: assume that center point is at 1:2 and radius of circle needed is 3 then:lowerLeft= 1-3:2-3 = -2:-1upperRight= 1+3:2+3 = 4:5You can call:dbCreateEllipse( geGetWindowCellView() "metal1" list( -2:-1 4:5))Thanks,RR
Why do this with SKILL (the original question was how to do this in Virtuoso)?Simply use Create->Conics->Circle in the layout editor, and follow the prompts at the bottom of the window.Easy. No need to use SKILL for an interactive operation like this.Andrew.
Thanks Andrew. Who knew drawing circles in Virtuoso could be so simple! I'd been told 1000 times by experienced Cadence users that it was only possible to draw circles in Virtuoso using a skill file. A lesson for all I feel........CheersJames
