I have to create a new component, and I knew how to do that with Orcad 10, but now I have the new 16.3 version and I'm lost...
I've create a new symbol part with Orcad capture and a new footprint using Orcad pcb editor. Now, how can I link them?
The help file is huge and I couldn't find how to create a new part from A to Z, neither on Internet.
Could you help me please?
Does not help me. It does not find pads. I thought pads were integrated in psm. However, I checked and re-checked the pads path but nothing. The two typical error strings look like:
"WARNING(SPMHNI-337): Unable to load symbol 'SULLINS_06XPRPC040SFAN-RC' used by RefDes J2 for device 'CONN HEADER 1X06_SULLINS_06XPRP': WARNING(SPMHUT-127): Could not find padstack PAD1_65D1_10S. due to ERROR(SPMHDB-274): Unable to load flash symbol F165_235_40 (Check PSMPATH setting for this sym"
"WARNING(SPMHNI-194): Symbol 'SULLINS_SBH11-PBPC-D07-ST-BK' used by RefDes J6 for device 'CONN PCB SBH11-PBPC-D07-ST-BK_S' not found in PSMPATH or must be "dbdoctor"ed."
respectively with and without "flash" complaint.
The Padstacks, and the Flash/Shape symbols they reference, will need to be in your on-disk library when placing the Connector Symbol 'SULLINS_SBH11-PBPC-D07-ST-BK' in the Allegro editor (.brd)
The information in the PSM just contains the names of the Padstacks, Flash and Shape symbols but not the actual data for them - the will be searched for in your library when placed.
Hope this help, Mike Catrambone
