Not sure about 14.2, but in general you can use the class Package Geometry/Place_Bound_Top and Place_Bound_Bottom.
In 14.2 the package heights were added as properties to the shape. Add the package boundary shape to the Place_Bound_Top class and then edit -> properties select the shape and add PACKAGE_HEIGHT_MAX property end enter your value.KP
Is anyway we can restrict component to be placed on bottom side which have height more than specified , without looking package height each time, by showing errors if we placed in bottomside. is any skill available for this.pugal
You can define Package Keepout areas using Setup > Areas > Package Keepout at the design level (.brd). After getting into the command change your subclass to Bottom, define your shape area then use Setup > Areas > Package Height to define the allowable component height. This newly defined area will dynamically check to the defined height attached to the Package Geometry / Place_Bound_Top areas in your components and DRC when the hieght is violated. This feature is part of tool and there is no reason to generate SKILL code to perform this type of check.Hope this helps,Michael CatramboneUTStarcom, Inc.
