I am using a dongle key for authentication, and a locally run license server for license management. My company is just trying out this license while we decide if it&amp;#39;s a good toolset for us, hence why we just got one dongle. We do NOT use cloud authentication or any other form of licensing. When the license server is not running, I cannot launch any of the applications in the OrCad X suite, as expected, but even with the Cadence License Server running, and the dongle key inserted, I still see &amp;quot;license expired&amp;quot; on the start page. The license is not expired (I checked the license file and it&amp;#39;s not expiring until 2026), the dongle drivers are up-to-date, and I followed the instructions precisely on the Cadence website.&amp;nbsp;Has anyone dealt with similar issues? I&amp;#39;m actually able to launch and interact with Capture CIS, but it&amp;#39;s very clearly not happy about my license. Can&amp;#39;t paste picture of the server status dialog box cuz the webpage keeps giving me an error when i try to, but it says &amp;quot;up&amp;quot; and the flexid matches the dongle flex id.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Why did it install everything even though we only have access to a small fraction of it? What are we supposed to be able to see after installation?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Another issue I&amp;#39;m facing is that the software doesn&amp;#39;t seem to have the ability to see network shares, only local directories unless I type the &amp;quot;\\&amp;quot; and the name of the network address.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Is this normal, or is the installation even more fouled up?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;My company backs up several times a day, and requires things like the library, and workspaces to be on network locations, so it can back it up.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I see a library explorer but that isn&amp;#39;t able to be used? How does one see what is in the library outside of being in the layout software? Is there any way?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This separate padstack setup is the hardest thing to get my head around, why aren&amp;#39;t they part of the footprint? Are you able to have footprint libraries divided into folders so you don&amp;#39;t need to weed through everything any time you want to configure a footprint?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I used to use OrCAD CIS in conjunction with a PADS layout package and it seemed exponentially easier doing that compared to this.Is there an easier way to do this?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Any help would be greatly appreciated.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I figured out there is a setting that defaults the file access to be very limited and to not allow the use of&amp;nbsp; Windows File Manager. &lt;p&gt;3. There was no request for Disk3.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;4. I have a company owned license, so I went to *Go to Start &amp;rarr; All Programs &amp;rarr; Cadence XXXX&amp;rarr; License Client Configuration Utility*&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;5. Specify the port license&amp;nbsp; server&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;6. Click to the finish,&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;But if I open my Cadence 22.1, it shows as follows,&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Having access to a multitude of documentations is excellent but why does Cadence use &amp;quot;Dark Mode&amp;quot; when creating the documentation?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I use this mode when working but for printing out a .PDF or part of it - the dark mode depletes all toner in my laser printer.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Dark mode is fine for displays - but NOT for printed material.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Why does Cadence use abbreviations when naming documentation? A few years ago I noticed the same&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;thing with Keysight (RF simulation software) and asked why they still used the 8.3 notation and suggested&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;using understandable (longer) file names. Keysight acknowledged it and changed their naming.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I therefore suggest that Cadence consider doing the same.&lt;/p&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
