What I suggest is using the [Parts Table] or [List of Parts] dialog. There are two ways to open these dialogs. (1) Check all parts at once Click the [Parts Table] icon on the toolbar Select [Part] from the drop-down menu at the top This table provides information such as the material property name, initial temperature, heat source and emissivity. Another useful piece of information available in this table is the volume/area ratio between the original part volume/area and the mesh volume/area. This can be used to verify whether the original part volume has been maintained after meshing. (2) Check selected parts from the part tree Select the part(s) or group(s) in the part tree, right-click and select [Show Parts List Dialog] This displays part information only for the selected part(s) or group(s) The information available is the same as described above. However, this method is useful when there are thousands of parts and you want to review them section by section or group by group Regarding the contact condition you mentioned, if you have defined contact thermal resistance between parts, the condition for each part pair can be checked under the [Conditions] tab in the [Tree/List View Window]. If you want to check whether parts are physically contacting each other, you can use [Mesh] - [Checking Parts Interferences]. To use this feather, select the part either the part tree or the draw window after clicking the [Select] button. You will then see a list of part(s) which are in contact with the selected part. This function can be used after meshing has been completed. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Forum Post: Review model settings on large scSTREAM model

Hello community, I am working on an electronics cooling model in scSTREAM that contains hundreds of components, with many different heat sources, materials, contact conditions, and other settings. To manage the model more efficiently, I organized the parts into folders and use them to apply conditions in bulk, which is very convenient. However, as the model grows, it becomes increasingly difficult to verify that all conditions have been assigned correctly. I wonder if there's a way in scSTREAM to review model settings in a consolidated or summarized view, so I can quickly identify potential setup mistakes before running the analysis. For example, I would like to confirm that every component has the correct material, heat source, contact condition, and other key properties assigned, without having to inspect each part individually. Is there an efficient way to perform a final sanity check of the model setup? Thank you for the help! Kind regards.

Forum Post: RE: scFLOW: Heat transfer between fluid and solid across a mesh interface

Hi Laurent Delmas . I think that you are talking about this reference pressure used in scPOST, in the Frequency tab of the Graph object, right? If so, you are right the reference pressure used is 20µPa, which is for air medium. Unfortunately it is hardcoded. There is way to change it and I can explain you how to do through a support inquiry from you using the following e-mail address : cradle. support@mscsoftware.com . In addition, as the Pref_air is 20*Pref_water, you can also add 26.02 dB (20*log_10(20) ) to the obtained signal. It's a shift of the curve. I can't share the proprietary geometry, but the model concerns de-icing of an aircraft wing and it's essential that hot internal air transfers heat to the solid skin. The mesh was created in STAR-CCM+ and includes both the fluid and solid regions, but is nonconformal in that nodes don't appear to be shared between the fluid and solid mesh regions at the interface between them. I'd hoped that nothing special would be needed to get heat transfer between the regions, but the scFLOW default heat transfer condition for fluid:solid contact doesn't seem to be applied. I have tried defining a discontinuous mesh interface for the fluid:solid interface and manually applying a heat transfer condition to it, but this didn't help. I also tried applying a heat transfer condition to the registered surfaces on both sides of the interface, but this also doesn't help. Can you please suggest a way to get the heat transfer to work? Re-meshing in scFLOW would probably fix the problem, but it's important that I (at least initially) use the STAR-CCM+ mesh. Based on your description, although I do not have full visibility into your model setup, it appears that the turbulence may be unstable in your transient analysis. One possible approach to address this issue is to increase the inflow turbulence properties(the turbulent kinetic energy and turbulent dissipation rate) at the inlet boundary condition. In some cases, higher values (i.e., introducing more turbulence) can help stabilize the solution. Another possibility is that the behavior you are observing is due to vortex shedding, which is inherently unsteady and may lead to fluctuations in the solution. If this is the case, some level of instability may be physically expected. If the issue persists, I recommend contacting technical support so that we can review your model in more detail and provide more specific guidance tailored to your setup. Best Regards, Nobuyuki Oshitani

Forum Post: scstream:Turbulent transient thermal simulation is difficult to converge. Thank you for your question. I can confirm that it is possible in Cradle scSTREAM to create material properties and then reuse them to another project without the need to recreate them. You would need to export the material properties to a property file (*.xml) and then import this file into your new project. See the steps below: 1. Export Material Properties from the Source Project: - Open your existing project in the scSTREAM Preprocessor. - Add or edit the material properties as needed in the list of materials dialog - Go to the Menubar and select [File] > [Export]. - Choose [Property Files (*.xml)] and save the file to a desired location. 2. Import Material Properties into the New Project: - Open the new project in scSTREAM - In the Initial Wizard, for [Property file] Select the previously exported *.xml property file and click [OK] alternatively : You can simply drag and drop the .xml file into the Pre-processor draw window and the material list would update accordingly - In the message window at the bottom of the Pre-processor screen, you should be able to see the material list being updated. 3. Managing and Updating Material Properties: If you want to add more materials in the future, you can overwrite the property file or create a new one, update the file path in the Initial wizard (or Drag and Drop the new .xml file in Pre). For additional information, you can refer to the following knowledge article: How to save and use material property data | Knowledge | Salesforce Hope this helps.
