These are joined together by a single RBE2 in the middle and overall SPC'd at the rectangular edges. When I create a stress fringe plot from a load case, a summary of the max and min nodal stress is shown underneath the spectrum, such as: I have many load cases (50+) and I'd like to be able to just export the max stress and the associated node for each load case, perhaps in a .CSV for further post-processing. I'd like to do this for each group as well. How do I do this without actually looking through each load case and writing down the max stress? Previous attempts: I've attempted to create a report, select all of the load cases and relevant quantities, but the output seems to just grab the enveloping stress for n subcases, so this approach seems to not be the right path.

Forum Post: RE: Ever wish you could access, control and automate Patran using Excel? Root Cause The error could be caused by duplicate Node IDs present in the list of nodes. Patran's RBE3 creation tool does not support duplicate entries, leading to the error. Solution To resolve this issue, follow these steps to clean up the node list and successfully create the RBE3 element: Create a Group to Remove Duplicates: Navigate to Group > Create in Patran. Add the node list into the group creation tool. Create the group. This group will not have duplicates Node IDs. Create the RBE3 Element: Use the cleaned group (via selecting "From Group(s)" button as shown below, or just cut/paste from the Group Modify menu) for the "Create Independent" Node List selection. Proceed with the RBE3 creation process as usual.

Forum Post: RE: How to add set3 card to bdf using Patran？

Here's an article on how to write out SET3 from Patran: https://simcompanion.hexagon.com/customers/s/article/bulk-data-card-set3-for-elements-output-kb8024519 And here's an article on how to import SET3 cards into Patran to create groups: https://simcompanion.hexagon.com/customers/s/article/Nastran-SET3-Card-import-with-the-TABSCTL-card You will find the sample BDF in the article's "File(s)" section. Select the Animation Control option. Set Up Animation: Use the Animation Control to configure the animation settings for the Isosurface. Adjust the parameters to suit the desired animation effect. Playback Options: Once set up, you can play the animation directly within Patran. Note that Patran does not support saving animations in modern formats like MP4. Recording the Animation: To save the animation, use your own screen recording application to capture the playback. A simple video demonstration of this process can be seen below: nexus.hexagon.com/.../insight_5F00_animation.mp4 For more detailed instructions, refer to the Patran Insight Control Documentation .

Forum Post: How to create CBEND /PBEND for a curved tube in PATRAN?

Question: How to create CBEND /PBEND for a curved tube in PATRAN? In order to use the result tools you need to create the result, the plot and then post it. Here is the way to create and post a scalar plot: FUNCTION show_custom_scalar_fringe(eids, etopo, sca_data) INTEGER eids(), etopo(), nelems, table_id REAL sca_data() IF (sys_array_nbound(eids)==0) THEN RETURN nelems = sys_array_hbound(eids,1) ga_elem_scalar_single_create("sca_data", nelems, eids, @ etopo, sca_data, table_id) res_data_load_elem_scalar( 0, table_id ) res_display_fringe_create( "", "FreeFaces", 1, ["EL:Elm 1:#"], 12, @ ["Range:default_Fringe", "RangeOverwrite:ON", "FringeStyle:Discrete/Smooth", @ "Shade:None", "ElemEdge:None,Blue,Solid,1", "Shrink:0", "TitleDisplay:ON", @ "MinMaxDisplay:OFF", "ValueDisplay:OFF", "Filter:None", "ScaleFactor:1.0", @ "LabelStyle:Exponential,12,White,3"], TRUE ) res_display_fringe_post( "", 0, "ENodal", TRUE, TRUE ) REPAINT_GRAPHICS() END FUNCTION To do similar with vector try: ga_node_deform_create() instead of ga_elem_scalar_single_create() try: res_display_vector_create() instead of res_display_fringe_create() result_display_vector_post() instead of res_display_fringe_post() Good luck. If you can't get this to work, you could also consider creating a nodal FEM field with your node/vector data (fields_create_dfem), use it to create a loadcase (loadsbcs_create2) and display the loadcase vector plot (loadsbcs_plot_markers_v2). There are more complicated methods beyond this, but hopefully this will get you on the right track.
