I have recently modeled a single shaft with two rigid connections, two discs and two dynamic unbalanced loads, as shown below:

The corresponding harmonic response computation yields both frequency response curves and the corresponding resonance peaks. When I ran the same simulation in a rotordynamics software from the Professor Friswell M.I (《Dynamics of rotating machines》), I found that the resonance peak amplitude of Romax is essentially the same as the result from Friswell software when the gyroscopic effect of the dynamic discs is not considered, rather than when it is taken into account. How is the gyroscopic effect of a dynamic rotor disc configured in Romax? How is the gyroscopic effect of a shaft configured in Romax?

The configuration of damping parameters for bearings and shafts is crucial during the dynamic analysis of shafting systems. The general dynamical equation of shafting systems is presented as follows:

For the sake of simplicity, the stiffness bearing is adopted, whose parameter settings are presented below.

Which type of damping does this damping parameter correspond to (Rayleigh damping, Coulomb damping, modal damping or Viscous damping)? What is its relationship with the bearing stiffness matrix Kb? How to add the bearing damping matrix in the same way as the stiffness bearing?

Additionally, how to set the structural damping, Rayleigh damping, and modal damping for a shaft? The corresponding configuration pages have not been located.

There are damping parameter settings in the NVH analysis configuration panel. Does the damping referred to here correspond to the shaft damping?

Thank you very much to all respected experts for taking the time out of your busy work to look into my questions！

I'm currently creating an FE model using Inventor's NASTRA analysis. I recently discovered that changing the extension of the .nas file generated after a normal mode analysis to .dat saves the geometry, stiffness, and modal analysis information.

The problem is that when I import the FE model and run a Codense FE model, the analysis proceeds infinitely and then fails.

There are rigid connections between the bearings connected to the FE model. If I remove these connections and run the Codense FE model, the analysis proceeds normally.
