Hi there,

This post is more a test.
I'm trying to start a thread in this forum, but no success.

Either my message is to big, or something else (e.g. I've try some text formatting) but when I push Post the the page is "thinking", see attachment.

I've try it in Chrome and Edge browsers, I've wait almost half hour, noting is happening.
Some advice, should I skip text formatting?

Hi Andrew,

The screenshot was just a ~ 4kb png file.

I've try to add it again on this reply.
The same message: "An error occurred. Please try again or contact your administrator."

My initial problem was related to this question community.cadence.com/.../spectre-nodes-info-pin-names-different-than-what-is-in-schematic-or-input-scsspectre nodes info: pin names different than what is in schematic or input.scs

On that I didn't had any attachment.

I was trying just some text formatting (inline code blocks) to make it readable.
In the end I had to split it in the original message.
Maybe there is a limit to the body message or it has some special (html) charscommunity.cadence.com/.../inteneded_5F00_message.txt.

I've attached it as plain text, in case IT want to debug it.

First line is the thread subject, then follow the message body.

marcelpreda IT asked me how big was the file you were trying to upload? There's a 2MB limit and exceeding this can cause issues similar to what you described. I'm not sure that's entirely it, because that would only be relevant if you were adding the attachment and I'm not sure that's the only thing you tried?

Thanks for reply.

Unfortunately the screenshot attachment didn't work too.

Now if I edit the initial message of this thread and try to attach the screenshot I get a error message
"An error occurred. Please try again or contact your administrator."

But on short: after I've press "Post" button to start the thread I've got the spinning/thinking/progress_indicator dots but message not submitted.

Then I've started the other thread, but I had to split the intended message in two parts:
- describing the problem.
- spectre options (as reply)

Without splitting it, the message was not posted.

Marcel,

I don't see an attachment, and also I see another thread that was posted by you with a second post. I suspect it was a temporary glitch (there have been a few of these recently; I'm hoping they'll get resolved along with the image uploading issues when we do an upgrade of the forum software; not sure when that will happen though).

I'm trying to post a question to the community but find myself can't upload pictures onto the website.
I choose Insert>Image/Video/File>Upload, but every time i click upload there's an orange notice board jump out saying 'An error occurred. Please try

Hey everyone,

I am running Cadence Virtuoso and I need to convert some NCSU_TechLib_Ami06 library files (divaDRC.rul, divaLVS.rul, tech.db and the techfile) over from its Diva implementation (as of the NCSU_CDK_1.6.0_Beta) to be Assura compatible. I was wondering if anyone has already made this conversion happen for any/all of the listed files, or if people had tips for the conversion process.

I just checked this with IC25.1. The Diva menus are in the Verify menu (DRC, Extract, LVS etc) once you've set this environment variable.

Appreciate the feedback Andrew!
Looked into using SKILL commands but it is unfamiliar to me and it seems like there may be extensive additional programming to make it work.

Additionally, I am using IC 25.1 and the bash terminal command that was suggested does not appear to add any Diva specific menus in Layout Suite XL.

For now, I will read up on the migration guide.

If you really need to do this (you could just continue to use Diva - see Looking for Diva menu in ICADV12.x/ICADVM18.1/ICADVM20.1/IC23.1 release if it's just the menus you're missing), then look at <ASSURAinstDir>/doc/DivaToAssura/DivaToAssura.pdf - also can be found online here: Diva to Assura Migration Guide -- Preface - Preface

You also don't need to migrate the tech.db or techfile (I assume that's the ASCII tech file).

Is there any way to temporarily deactivate or disable an instance in Cadence Virtuoso Schematic Editor so that it won't be simulated? I am migrating from Agilent ADS to Cadence and cannot find this useful function. I need to debug my circuit. Being able to quickly enable/disable instances would help a lot. Searched in google and cannot find anything useful. Does anybody know about it? Thanks a lot!

I would like to write a SKILL program or a command file to identify the regions where metal layers extend into MOM capacitors, in order to prevent any impact on the capacitance value of the MOM capacitors.

My initial idea is to first identify the layers of the MOM capacitors, and then use the ABE API to find the overlapping areas with the metal layers.

DC-DC converter power stage (real switching circuit) transfer function bode plot method

With a power converter such as a buck converter which is a real switching circuit,

is there a way to obtain the open-loop duty-cycle-to-output transfer function through simulation?

This typo for the new users only who has 0 posts and status "Community Level"

As soon a new user post something, status changed to level 1 "Community Level 1" and for this description everything is fine

You can test it using username "comunity" >> https://community.cadence.com/members/comunity (also with a typo in the name) I found this user by "search" on the website, when was looking for any topics related to "comunity" to don't create extra topics / tickets.

High-Voltage MOSFET Body Diode Behavior and Extraction Issues in Post-Layout Simulation

Hello,

I’m working on a design using a TSMC 180nm High Voltage (GEN2) process. The devices in use, according to the PDK model files, include internal body diodes as part of their structure.

Setup:

VDD = 20V supply
Layout passes DRC, LVS, and ANN
SUB terminals for both NMOS and PMOS are connected to GND and VDD respectively

Issues Encountered:

In Calibre PEX, I see warnings like:
- “Area for diode cannot be 0.0, reset to 1e-12”
- “Layout instances ignored due to invalid master”
In Assura layout extraction, I can Diode noted “unmatched”
In Spectre post-layout simulations, DC and transient behavior significantly diverges from schematic-level results.

I suspect that leakage through internal body diodes at high voltage (20V) is causing simulation instability or unexpected current paths—possibly due to how the substrate terminals are connected or how the extraction tool interprets the parasitics.

Questions:

What is the recommended way to connect SUB terminals in high-voltage devices to avoid body diode conduction or leakage?
How can I configure Calibre PEX (or Assura) to extract accurate area/perimeter values and avoid diode mismatch warnings? Since we cannot control or set the internal Diode no matter in schematic or layout.
Is there a specific LPE or netlisting flow required to properly handle HV parasitics and diode modeling in this process?

Any help on preventing diode-related leakage and ensuring post-layout accuracy at high voltage mosfets or any experience about the HV PDK would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to find the equation to calculate the total length of a signal. So the code should find the moment the signal starts to rise, plateau, and fall duration. After that, the duration of these times should be added. And at the end, I should get 150ns as a result. I tried to implement something like the below but it did not work suggestion are welcome :)
