Layer Palette: Set Used Layers as default

Hello,

i want to set the the scope option "used" in the layer palette as the default setting when i start the virtuoso layout editor.

I found the env variables called:

- pteUsedOnlyScope

But when i set this variable in my .cdsenv it doesn't bring any effect.

"layout pteUsedOnlyScope 'boolean t"

When I read this variable in the command window i get always:

> envGetVar("layout" "pteUsedOnlyScope")
> nil

Why can't i set this variable to true? Do you have any hints for me?

    If I add:

    layout pteUsedOnlyScope boolean t

in my ~/.cdsenv file, then this works for me. Note that you had a quote in front of the boolean which is not correct. Note too that by default virtuoso doesn't read .cdsenv from the working directory but only from the home directory (there are ways to control this, e.g. using $CDS_LOAD_ENV).

You can also set it using SKILL (in your .cdsinit file):

    envSetVal("layout" "pteUsedOnlyScope" 'boolean t)

(in this case you do want the single quote).

Above you are calling envGetVar - which doesn't exist - presumably you meant envGetVal.

This variable only exists in IC616 and ICADV121 and later. You didn't mention which version you're using.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Hello Andrew, thank you very much for this reply. I was the wrong quote sign in front of boolean. So everything is fine now. Regards, Florian By the way I'm using IC616 ...
