Training Insights - The Effective Use of Filters to Narrow Down Search – Part 1

4 Jun 2024 • 3 minute read

Today, we would like to show you how to use several filters in the Cadence Learning and Support Portal to narrow down your search and find what you are looking for quickly and easily.

To access most of the links in this post, you will need a Cadence Learning and Support Portal account. If you are new to Cadence products, follow the simple registration process and start your journey through the Cadence Learning and Support Portal today.

Suppose you want to see everything about a certain product, i.e., suitable Knowledge Articles, Trainings, Training Bytes, or Rapid Adoption Kits (RAKs). In that case, just enter the search term (for example, "Allegro X PCB Editor") on the main page, and you can see all the content related to this product at one glance.

You can filter separately to search trainings by clicking on the corresponding Explore Training Courses Button in the top right corner. You can find more information in "Training Insights - Free Online Courses on Cadence Learning and Support Portal".

First, a quick overview of the major icons used (displayed on the left of every search result title), so that you can see at a glance what type of document can be found under each link:

The Quick View window shows a snippet of the document with highlighted search terms (along with their occurrences):

Clicking on the Quick View icon will provide an overview on the first page:

That's it for today, but I'm looking forward to telling you more about the following filter options in the next few blogs—stay tuned!

  • Ability to select multiple values in Search Filters and Ability to exclude values in Filter.
  • Intuitive display of applied filters
