Become a Cadence Academic Network Certified Instructor!

Are you a lab instructor sitting at home right now? Have you completed some Cadence Online Training courses for your education and earned Digital Badges for personal promotion and spicing up your CV on LinkedIn? Well done! You can go even further and become a Cadence Academic Network Certified Instructor, and, if your lab colleagues do the same, the whole lab will become a Cadence Academic Network Certified Lab. Sounds cool, but what are the other benefits? Let Professor Marek Wójcikowski from Gdansk University of Technology explain:

When you become a Certified Lab, the Cadence Academic Network co-organizes an event with the lab, with press attendance and promotion on various Cadence media channels. Your university will be recognized for collaborating with and getting promoted by a Fortune500 company. Your students, current and future ones, will see that when they attend lectures in your lab and do the hands-on training there, they get access to the latest tools and design flows and are being educated on industry-grade technology. This will improve their career path, since they can include on their CVs the fact that they were educated in a Cadence Academic Network Certified Lab.

So, you’re convinced now, what’s the next step? First, choose which area you want to be certified:

  • Custom Design with Virtuoso Technology (Front-End)
  • Custom Design with Virtuoso Technology (Back-End)
  • System Design and Verification with XCelium Technology
  • Digital Design with Innovus and Sign-Off
  • IC Package Design and Analysis with Allegro Technology
  • PCB Design and Analysis with Allegro Technology
  • Tensilica Processor IP

Being certified in each topic will require you to complete 4-5 Online Training courses, most of which are entry level, but don’t underestimate the time and effort it will take to accomplish all the trainings. After finishing the Online Training courses, please let us know, we will verify and issue you a certificate. If your whole lab gets certified, then we will present the lab with a nice plaque to be displayed at your university. In order to be enrolled, write an email to universityprogram@cadence.com to get a Cadence support account created and self-enroll in the required courses for the certification you are interested in!

Your Cadence Academic Network Certified Lab status is valid for one year. Because new tools are released and new tool versions have new functionalities, the trainings get updated and you’ll need to get an update as well so you can continue to defend the title of being the instructor of the latest tools and design flows. After one year, contact us and we will tell you which Online Training courses to enroll in maintain your Cadence Academic Network Certified Lab status. Once you have decided to become a certified instructor or lab, you will be building a long partnership with the Academic Network. Now is the time for the first step!

How to Enroll in Online Training:

All Online Training courses are available for self-enrollment on the Cadence Learning and Support system, located under the “Learning” tab.
