Cadence Awards 31 Diversity Scholarships to Students in Technology

5 Feb 2021 • 2 minute read

Welcome to part one of a new four-part blog series where we’ll be highlighting the outstanding achievements of our diverse students in technology who were recipients of a $5,000 Cadence Diversity in Technology Scholarship!

Cadence recognizes that diverse perspectives, experiences, and ideas lead to greater innovation, and we also recognize that lack of access to education and systemic barriers have made it especially difficult for underrepresented groups to enter the tech field.

Creating an environment where everyone has an equal opportunity to contribute is core to our One Cadence—One Team culture. This is why Cadence is offering scholarships to support our mission of creating a diverse and inclusive culture at our company and across the STEM field.

In addition to our third annual Women in Technology Scholarship, Cadence is excited to offer new Diversity in Technology Scholarships focused on Black and Latinx students. We are awarding scholarships to 31 outstanding students—a record number! We have selected 15 recipients for our Cadence Women in Technology Scholarship, and eight recipients each for our new Black Students in Technology Scholarship and Latinx Students in Technology Scholarship. To be considered for the scholarships, recipients must be pursuing a technology-related degree, such as computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or electronic engineering. In addition, all recipients have demonstrated a passion for technology, maintained a strong academic record, exemplified leadership, and were highly recommended by their professors and advisors.

We believe that these young leaders will make a huge impact on the future of technology. We look forward to sharing more about their individual stories pursuing careers in tech in our next three blogs.

Congratulations to this year’s 31 recipients!
