DAC 2016—Student Activities and Scholarships

The Cadence Academic Network is the proud sponsor of all student activities and scholarships at DAC this year. Please join us at one or all of the following events:

A. Richard Newton Young Student Fellow Program
Sunday, June 5, 7:30am to 9:00am in Room 18cd and 
Closing Ceremony on Thursday, June 9, 6:00pm to 6:45pm in Room 18cd
The A. Richard Newton Young Student Fellow Program encourages students to pursue graduate studies or corporate work in the electronic design automation (EDA) industry. The program is named after Dr. A. Richard Newton, a leader in EDA and DAC. Master’s students selected to attend DAC for free as fellows in this program have the opportunity to participate in exciting sessions and events at DAC.

Design Automation Summer School
Sunday, June 5, 9:00am to 6:00pm in Room 18cd
The Design Automation Summer School (DASS) is a one-day intensive course on research and development in design automation (DA).

Young Faculty Workshop
Sunday, June 5, 8:30am to 7:00pm in Room 12ab
The Young Faculty Workshop is organized for current, or soon to be, young faculty in the field of EDA. This special workshop will consist of presentations by EDA senior professionals, with additional opportunities to network with some of the established researchers and funding officers in the field.

CEDA Career Perspectives Panel
Sunday, June 5, 7:00pm to 9:00pm in Ballroom D
Millennials with an EDA background face an abundance of career choices. The panelists of this session come from different EDA-related jobs and are in different phases of their careers. They will provide a glimpse into their worlds and lifestyles: What do they like and dislike? What is the compensation? How is the work-life balance? Any regrets? These unique insights will help the next generation in deciding on a career path.

SIGDA PhD Forum
Tuesday, June 7, 7:00pm to 9:00pm in Ballroom D
The SIGDA PhD Forum is a poster session for PhD students to present and discuss their dissertation research with academics, industry leaders, and recruiters in the EDA community.
