Xtensa Design Contest 2015 in India

5 Dec 2015 • Less than one minute read

The Cadence® Xtensa® Design Contest is an initiative of the Cadence India University Program and the first such initiative of this kind. In this contest, students are provided with a project problem statement along with a detailed outline and parameters, and also the success criteria on which solutions will be qualified and judged. The student team is expected to submit an abstract based on the given problem, and once approved, to submit a project report with a working model successfully achieving the set goals in problem statement.

The second edition of the contest was held successfully this year with 16 approved submissions. The objective of the project was to implement an adaptive beamforming algorithm for a microphone array on an Xtensa processor. All the confirmed submissions were provided with Xtensa Software Developers Toolkit to work on.

The winning and runner-up team members, including guide, received a 1TB external hard disk each as a prize along with certificates.
