Current Open Positions on the Fidelity CFD Team

22 Aug 2022 • 2 minute read

Questions I get asked a lot include "Are you nuts?" and "What exactly do you do all day anyway besides surf the interwebs?"

A third is "Are you hiring for the Fidelity CFD team at Cadence?"

Search the Careers Webpage at Cadence.com

The Careers webpage on the Cadence website should be your first stop to find open positions. The filtering capability helps you narrow in on CFD roles.

For example, if you search for the keyword "CFD" you'll get a list of 13 open positions (as of the time this post was written).

If you'd like to narrow that down by location, CFD jobs at this time are mostly in Brussels and Fort Worth. Filtering for Country=Belgium and Location=Brussels yields 9 open positions.

  1. Software Engineer - Fidelity Platform
  2. Software Engineer - Aeroacoustics
  3. Software Engineer - Post Processing & Visualization (3 positions)
  4. Software Engineer - Geometry Preparation
  5. Product Engineer - Marine
  6. Product Engineer - Turbomachinery & Energy
  7. Product Engineer - User Interface

Follow Us on Social Media

Another good way to be informed of job openings in CFD at Cadence is to follow Cadence CFD on social media, specifically Twitter and LinkedIn.

Newly Opened Position in CFD Product Management

And then there are positions we're trying to fill that haven't yet gotten formalized enough to be on the Careers page. I happen to have one of those on my Product Management team.

Another one of those questions I get asked is, "What does product management do?" Well, let me google that for you. Among the many results returned by that search, let's look at Wikipedia's definition: "Product management is the business process of planning, developing, launching, and managing a product or service. It includes the entire lifecycle of a product, from ideation to development to go to market."

Here's how I think of it. You gotta love CFD. You need a degree in engineering or equivalent. And you need work experience in CFD development or applications. With that as a foundation, as a product manager, you'll help coordinate the activities of the teams that develop the product, market the product, sell the product, and support the product. We get to support all these teams of professionals to ensure we as an enterprise are delivering the right solution at the right time to the right people. It's quite simple.

And you can blog too. But I digress.

If you are interested in this role on the CFD product management team, email your resume to me at jchawner@cadence.com and tell me why you love CFD and which parts of PM you can excel at.

And if PM isn't for you, please share this blog post with your networks.
