Last Week at Fidelity CFD

10 Oct 2022 • 3 minute read

Rise and shine for another week in the world of CFD. Here's what you missed last week from us here at Cadence Fidelity CFD. (Let's go back two weeks because there wasn't a post last Monday.)

From the Blogs

On-Demand Webinar—Modeling Unsteadiness with the Non-Linear Harmonic Method

Traditional time-domain, unsteady CFD methods can simulate all the necessary physics to predict performance accurately. However, they are usually too expensive to integrate fully into the product design phase. That is why Cadence's Non-Linear Harmonic method (NLH), integrated into Fidelity CFD, is an excellent alternative to these conventional approaches by providing high-accuracy results at a fraction of its computational cost. Watch this webinar at your leisure.

On-Demand Webinar—Simulation of Hydraulic Turbines with Fidelity CFD

In this webinar, we introduce you to Fidelity Flow and its pressure-based solver (formerly known as Omnis Open-PBS), demonstrating its advantages for simulating hydro turbines. Fidelity Flow is an easy-to-use multiphysics solver that provides fast and accurate results, including for unsteady simulations. Take some time today to watch it.

Fine-Tune Your Mesh in Fidelity Pointwise with Tweak

Tweak is a small feature that can make a major difference between a grid and a bunch of points on which you can't compute an accurate or converged CFD solution. According to the dictionary, tweak means to “adjust or fine-tune,” and that's exactly what it does in Fidelity Pointwise. With Tweak, you can move any grid point in the x, y, or z direction. Tweak is a handy command that is part of your toolkit. It's not something you're likely to use every day, but it'll be there when you need it. Take a few minutes to read more.

Software Release

Fine Marine 11.1

The newest version of Fine Marine - Cadence's CFD software specifically designed for Marine Engineers and Naval Architects - is out now. Discover re-conceptualized wave generation, drastically expanding the range of waves and the accuracy of the modeling and advanced post-processing tools. Spend a few minutes learning more, and then download this update.

Events

CadenceLIVE Europe

CadenceLIVE Europe 2022 will be held on November 21-22 at the Hilton Munich Park hotel. It will feature peer presentations that offer solutions for today’s design challenges that will impact tomorrow’s products. CadenceLIVE brings together users, developers, and industry experts to connect, share ideas, and inspire design creativity. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend captivating keynotes and interesting user presentations and interact with Cadence experts, peers, and our sponsors in our Designer Expo. Register today.

HiFiLeD Symposium 2022

Join us at HiFiLeD Symposium in December 2022. The topics will range from issues concerning the complexity, reliability, accuracy, and uncertainties in generating the High-Fidelity LES/DNS data to their application towards turbulence and transition modeling. It will include progress on the underlying high-order numerical methods (HOMs), innovative approaches for CPU acceleration for LES and DNS, exploitation of massive parallel architectures, efficient post-processing on massive parallel hardware, innovative machine learning methods, as well as experimental data. Moreover, the Symposium offers the opportunity to communicate and exchange knowledge for academic researchers, graduate students, industrial engineers, as well as industrial R&D managers and consultants working in the fields of turbulent flow modeling, simulations, measurements, and multidisciplinary CFD applications.

Your abstract for this symposium is due by 31 Oct 2022. Register your abstract today.
