This webinar will introduce you to the Clipped-Voronoi Diagram mesh generation technology. This technology is essential to Fidelity CharLES, our new software for wall-modeled large eddy simulation (WMLES). The CFD mesh generation approach used here was specifically designed to produce high-quality meshes for scale-resolving simulations such as WMLES.

There are several important advantages to using this technology, such as a globally unique and partition-independent mesh and the algorithm is highly scalable for efficiently handling parallel decomposition. The elements generated are self-similar and isotropic, and near-boundary cell length scales are decoupled from surface feature length scales.

We will demonstrate how to quickly iterate through mesh designs in a flexible and lightweight way. We'll also showcase various examples of open benchmark simulations where these meshes, combined with Fidelity CharLES, enabled high-quality WMLES at surprisingly modest mesh sizes.
