This Week in CFD

19 Nov 2021 • 1 minute read

Many of us, especially folks in the U.S. of A., have their eyes on next week because it's the week of the Thanksgiving holiday. My new pal and fellow blogger, Paul McLellan, not only has his eyes on next week but also his stomach as evidenced by his blog post today Offtopic: Food, Especially Italian. (I highly recommend you subscribe to Breakfast Bytes because Paul shares a lot of good stuff that goes beyond the EDA world.)

But I digress (digest?). I've avoided blogging about food because you can find all sorts of seasonal flying turkeys elsewhere on teh interwebs. And today's round-up of CFD news and notes is a great way to segue into the weekend if not a holiday week. What's inside?

  1. My "must read" article of the week is about turbulent solutions of the Euler equations and how this approach "resolves the grand challenges of fluid dynamics described in the NASA CFD Vision 2030 Study." Go back and read that again - turbulent solutions of the inviscid Euler equations. I'm not even close to completely understanding this.
  2. There's an article that advocates that the pivotal element of a digital engineering strategy is 100% analog.
  3. A really nice interview with Ken Wong on the CAE world.
  4. Plenty of job openings and event news.

A  fond memory of the fun we had making these meshes and poster
for the International Meshing Roundtable's "Meshing Maestro" contest.
We had even more fun when we won.

Gobble up all the CFD news and more in This Week in CFD #454 on Another Fine Mesh.
