How to get " the rotation & coordinate to the top " of the cellname in a large layout design ?

Dear All,

I want to get  " the  rotation & coordinate to the top " of the cellname in a large layout design , but how to do it ?

The cellname maybe has more than one  and the layout design is very large .

Thank you,

Charley

Well, whether it's "correct" is dependent upon what you want to return. What you've done will tell you the library name that the matching instance comes from as well as the top-level coordinate and top-level orientation - and that will work fine with the change you've made.

I'm wondering whether you're trying to say that targetCellName exists in more than one library? If so, you could also pass ?libName "libA" (or whatever) to the function to tell it to check the library name and the cellName.

However, I'm not convinced that's what you're asking me either.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Andrew,

Use the same layout hierarchy(design) :
I use the command bindkey 'S' (Search & Replace) to find the same cell , it takes about 5 mins ,
I use the function , maybe it does not need so long when found the cell , but when the function completely done , it takes 2hr:17m
Could you help me to use 'Search & Replace' command to do it ?

    Thank you,
    Charley

    Charley,

My patience is running a bit thin here - you are consistently not providing enough information or being clear about what you're doing or what the problem is.

Please contact customer support - I don't have the bandwidth to keep asking you to clarify what your problem is.

By the way, I did look at using leSearchHierarchy for this, but the problem is that whilst it returns the instance ids, you don't get any information about the hierarchical path down to the instance, which means you can't compute the overall transformation to those instances. (this is a wild guess as to what you might be asking). It might be possible to optimise my code (if that's what you're saying), but this is best handled through customer support so we can get better insight as to what you are really trying to do here (and hopefully get a clearer description of what the problem is).

    Regards,

    Andrew.
