PSpice Capture Lite Error No Pspice Template

Hi,

I am working on a school project involving a power switch and I am using PNP and NPN transistors in my pspice model. When I go to simulate the project, I am getting green circles above the two BJTs and the following error message in the System Log:

WARNING [NET0093]   No PSpiceTemplate for Q1, ignoring
WARNING [NET0093]   No PSpiceTemplate for Q2, ignoring

Both devices are taken from the pspice library, which was what most other forum posts suggested. I tried creating a new project file and building the schematic from scratch to see if that would fix the issue, but it didn't.

Any help on how to get this working would be great.

Thank you,
Ben

    Hi,

This could happen if your pspice.ini is not configured correctly. You should check the registry value for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cadence Design Systems\Interchange\ProductConfiguration\Shared\PSpiceConfigFile

Its value should be path to a valid PSpice.ini file. This file usually lies at \tools\PSpice\PSpice.ini Please check this and let me know if this does not fix the problem. Also please mention which PSpice version you are using.

ok, same problem here...but my registry has no entry whatsoever for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cadence Design Systems\Interchange\ProductConfiguration\Shared\PSpiceConfigFile...

    should I create that entry?

if so, tell me EXACTLY what to type...my system is WINDOWS VISTA 64 with ample memory...

    thanks,

    martychi

ok, I found some advancement, but now stuck on this:

after running a sim (using PSICE parts in schematic, this comes up...
WARNING(ORPSIM-15188): There are no devices in this circuit...
but I do have devices in circuit...all from the pspice library...what is wrong?

    Hi Martychi,

You should not need the registry entry if you are using a recent PSpice version like SPB 16.3 or SPB 16.5

In previous versions, the installer used to create this entry.

If you want to create the entry manually, create the following keys:

Under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cadence Design Systems - Create key "Interchange"

    Under Interchange - Create "<release name>" e.g. create key 16.3.0 for 16.3, 16.5.0 for 16.5, 15.7.0 for 15.7 etc.

    Under <release>, create "ProductConfiguration"

    Under ProductConfiguration, create "Shared"

Under Shared, create String Value with Name = "PSpiceConfigFile" and Value = "<path to ini file>"

    e.g. path may be D:\cadence\SPB_16.5\tools\pspice\pspice.ini

Please let me know if it helps.

    Regards,

    Abha
