Allegro screen white out

PhilH
PhilH over 9 years ago

Running Windows 10 with 16.6 and latest hotfix. Windows 10 did an update the other day and now my Allegro screen whites out if I hover over the visibility tab or if I click on any other application that is open. This is happening on multiple computers at multiple locations. Any one else experiencing this? Anyone know of a fix?

I did not try the windows 7 fix - but tried setting compatibility to 16 bit reduction. I am on windows 10. So far no fix.
    Thanks

    From Patrick's post:

    On Windows 10

    - Run the Registry editor (regedit)

    - Navigate to the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers

    - Delete the key that has allegro.exe in the name and data value of DISABLETHEMES (or ~DISABLETHEMES)

    - See more at: community.cadence.com/.../1349698

Thanks, I had missed that in Patricks post. Read it too fast.
Unfortunately regedit did not provide a fix. However the data value for the key was ~16BIT, not DISABLETHEMES.

    Hi Guys,

Same problem here. Windows 10, 64 bits, allegro 16.6 hotfix 058.

One solution to the problem is to disable OpenGL Of course you will miss the feature. The other solution in this topic works for me as well (not making the window full screen)

    regards

    catalin
