Using Presto every day is a real struggle with all the bugs and crashes, etc. Anyone else using it 100% of the time? Is the other pcb editor as buggy?

Like just this morning.  It took me 6 tries to sync the schematic to the pcb.  Tried 3 times with Presto... looks like it worked, but didn't... then used the regular tool... nope.... then after 2 more presto tries, it works.  Why?  No clue at all.  Didn't change a thing.  Just kept on closing the schematic and pcb tools and re trying.  That's it.

I find that the schematic tool will crash often when trying to sync after doing some changes in the schematic.  I often need to close the tool and then re open to sync.

Often when things that just seem to not be working... shutting the pcb and schematic tools fixes whatever issue I had.

Is this the same for everyone?  Or is it just this buggy?

Also, why is the schematic tool so different from BOTH pcb tools.  Why is the zoom different, etc?  It's like all three different pieces were designed in different decades :(

I'm hoping the Sept or Oct update will fix a lot of these issues.  Takes me 5X longer to do anything in this tool compared to Altium.

Anyone have info on what is going to be updated and fixed?  Seems like the only real work is on the Allegro tools and anything Orcad like gets left behind...

I find the best way to keep Capture and Presto synched is

    1. In capture, save the project, then Select Tools > Create Netlist > PCB.  I believe I use the default settings.
    2. Then, In Presto, select Tools > Update PCB.

I had all sorts of problems doing it other ways, though those other ways seemed much more intuitive.

Or to just use a different tool altogether!  I've never ever used a tool that's so buggy and crashes so much in my life.

The more I use Orcad, the more I realize how much work this tool needs.  Even using different monitors with it causes huge issues.  Like come on... It's 2025...

I have 25 installed and it's no different than 24 even though we were all promised something that would blow our doors off.

Just the fact that synching the schematic to the pcb is such an issue for everyone should be really alarming to everyone =O
