Move Components using axlTransformObject

Hi Guys

I have this program that I have been coding for a while, basically I group them in a pre-determined fashion and have the list of all the refdes/dbids

The initial condition components are already placed in the board

Now my intention is to move them to a different location

I tried to use the axlTransformObject and passed all the dbid's but the amount of time penalty is staggering

I was wondering how could I make this more time efficient or is there is another way to achieve this

Please share with me any code that would move a single or a set of components or dbids from one place to another quickly

I appreciate any kind of help on this issue

I do have another way around to achieve this, basically write a placement file and import it

But that would be not cool :-)

Regards

Venkata

    Hi Venkata,

There are two things I would try:

Turn off drc checks using axlDBControl('drcEnable nil)

    Cloak the routine using axlDBCloak

    Regards, Dave
