Board Dimension with Japanese Character

Hi! Anyone knows how to input Japanese text in Allegro? Im doing a Panel Board of the design and the NTH (Non-Through Holes) has Japanese text, how can i add these text? Moreover, is there an automatic way of generating the dimension of the NTH ( with tolerances included). If none, how can i add subscript and superscript for tolerances of NTH? tnx in advance.

    ill try my best to explain it, please bear with me (because my pc is in japanese).

    1. Add the LANG variable in your system. Go to control panel --- system -- then see the attach .doc file, i cant really read it (just figure it out where it is) you can see that lang is set to japanese. After setting it, reboot is needed.
    2. create a text file you desired (in my case 一般穴　ippanana) in the notepad then save it.
    3. then convert the text file to EUC (extended unix code). This is the text string that Allegro can read. (you should have a program that can convert JIS to EUC). It will automatically overwrite the original text file.
    4. From Allegro, add text -- read from file -- select the text file.  And your done.

    Allegro において日本語を入力する為の設定方法と文字入力方法について紹介します
    １）環境変数を以下の通り設定する。
    ２）EUC コードで＊.txt ファイルを作成する。< EUC 記述可能なEditor/EUC 変換プログラムで対応>
    ３）Allegro コマンドでAdd > Text を選択する。
    4）入力したい位置で左クリックし、文字入力モードにする。
    ５）カーソル点滅時に右クリックし、アシストメニューから「Read From File」を選択。
    ６）ファイル選択ウィンドウより、２）項のファイルを選び「開く」をクリックする。

    the japanese text are just the same procedure as what i wrote in english.
     
  • So is this not possible to do unless you are on the Japanese OS?

  •  Hi. It is still possible even with english OS. just add Japanese Language to your system so that you can toggle between English and Japanese Text.
