Swapping layers in Allegro PCB

Is there a way of moving the layers in the cross section setup?  I tried copying all the objects to a new layer, but a have a mix of plane and route components and it looses the net connections when it does the copy.

I just want to change the order of the layers.

I have used a Sub-Drawing (File > Export > Sub-Drawing) in the past to perform the swapping of layers instead of using Edit > Change.

    1) File > Export > Sub-Drawing
    2) Turn on the Clines/Shapes for the two layers you wish to swap
    3) Set the Find tab to Clines/Shapes only and check all Preserve options, except Preserve Refdes, under the Options Tab
    4) Window the entire board and select 0,0 as your clipboard origin point
    5) Edit the clipboard file (.clp) created in the previous step and swap the layers names
    6) Delete all the Cline/Shapes on the two layers you turned on in Step 2
    7) File > Import > Sub-Drawing and use the 0,0 as your load point (match origin point selected in Step 4)

That's it.  Maybe it will correct the issue you are seeing.

    Hope this helps,

Yes!  dalTools has a simple GUI based layer tool where you simply move the layers around in the stack order and apply.  It takes care of all the associated other layers like keepouts, anti-etch and constraint values too.  This is one of over 100 useful utilities available.  Get a free 30 day license at www.daltools.com
