A few problems with a new session of PCB Editor

Hi,

I am working with a new session of PCB Editor, and a few things are not the way it used to be, and I don't know how to change that:

  • When I hover mouse over any component, it does not hilight it temporarily. I am wondering how I can make it to work properly.
  • When I click on a component, it does not hilight it, but when I change the zoom, it updates the display and hilights it. In fact it can not update the display immediately. Is there any setting for updating display immediately. I tried everything in "User Preferences" dialog and none of the settings worked.
  • Sometimes when I click on a component, it asks to pick a new location for the component. In fact it assumes that I want to move it. I checked the env file and I could not find any setting about left mouse Button, so I can remove it. I suspect that it takes LMB as the repeat of the last command. If it's so, is there any way to prevent it from repeating the last command.

I would appreciate your comments.

Thanks

Your first item, if you go to Setup - Application Mode and choose General Edit Allegro will temporarily hilight whatever item you have turned on in your find filter.  For example, if you have both symbols and pins turned on, it will hilight the entire symbol instead of just the pin.  If you turn off symbol, it will just hilight the pin.  Keep in mind that if the Datatips don't come up, just click once out in space and then go back and hover over the item and it will work.

I'm not sure what you mean in your 2nd item.

Your third item should be able to be taken care of if you right click and go to Selection Set - Clear All Selections.
