Can not find package

Hi:

I need to place components in PCB. I've checked shematic DRC and generated netlist in orCAD. I've set the pad and psm path in "setup--user preference" and updated padstack in "tools--padstacks--refresh". But after import netlist, PCB editor issues warning. Eg.:

Symbol 'TC7343' for device 'CAP POL_TC7343_100U' not found in PSMPATH or must be "dbdoctor"ed.

The package can be seen in "Placement--package symbols", but not in "placement--components by refdes". I've no idea what happens to the PCB Editor...... Is PSMPATH the same meaning as the "psmpath " I set in "setup--user preference"?

Your understanding is correct which means something else might be wrong.

There might be a problem with naming a symbol with whitespace like "CAP POL" instead of "CAP_POL"

One way to verify if your path is correct is to go into Allegro and place parts manually and select the library instead of the database.  The parts that Allegro can see will be shown under Package Symbols
