Update PCB from schematic

Inevitably in the course of working on the PCB layout I needed to make a change to the schematic. This is the first design that I've done with Orcad.

I got an error when placing a part and needed to update the schematic side - I needed to update a component.  Now I am unsure how to push this change to the PCB side.  I didn't really see this covered in the tutorial and I am afraid of screwing up the work I've already done.  So how does one push a change from the schematic capture to an in-progress PCB layout?

So whenever I tried previously to regenerate the netlist files with the "Create or update PCB editor board" box checked it overwrote the CLOCK_INTERFACE_BOARD.brd file and I ended up with a blank board... Is that a separate issue that can be fixed?

Here is the path for the netlist files... the pst*.dat files are in there.

This is what it looks like when I try to update in Allegro.

You are browsing for the Import Directory, this won't show the files within there, use OK to set the directory, the Import Directory in the Import Logic form will be updated and then Import Cadence to import the netlist. You can drive all this in one go from Capture with Tools>Create Netlist and use the Create Netlist and Uprev Board options with the Open With option set for the product that you are using - PCB Editor will likely need to be closed when you run this and will then re-open with the updated netlist loaded.

Okay, so in Orcad I use these settings (below) to re-create my netlist files.

Now when I run this, it opens up Allegro with a blank board and saves over the prior CLOCK_INTERFACE_BOARD.brd file...  And wipes out all the work I had previously done.

Is this the intended operation - a PCB cannot be updated without starting over from scratch?

Input Board file is the board you are starting with.

The output board file is a new file name, this board does not exist.

    No over writing will occur.
