Dynamic Shape is not applying DRC around different net!.

Hi,

I have defined may shape in internal plane as dynamic and have a constraint of 10Mil between various nets. However, My shape seems to connected directly to the via of other net in Figure 1:

If My shape is near a via of different net, then it applies that spacing constraint?!!! Figure 2 shows it:

I have tried Display-> status Update DRC so many times but it doesn't show any Error.

I would appreciate any help.

There are lots of folks who have been on vacation but, equally, there is not a lot to be seen from these screen shots and, apart from some "lucky guesses", it's unlikely that anyone could come up with "the" solution. For example, it looks like the Shape to Shape constraints could be 0, the Shapes could be "out of date", the cross-section could be set to Negative Artwork. Vias would typically be Full Contact, so they could be correct. If you want a precise answer, ZIP and attach the BRD file.

    Hi,

I have attached file. Layers are negative as I had in my previous old designs. Shape to Shape constraint is not 0! Shapes are up to date!.

The shapes are being voided correctly but you have not enabled the display of Thermal Pads in Setup>Design Parameters, Display tab. If you use Positive shapes, the Thermal / Anti will be controlled by the Constraint Manager settings and you won't need to define any Thermal and Anti Pad Parameters in the Pad Designer. This can be useful if you need to change Thermal and Anti Pad settings since you don't need to redefine all of the Thermal Flash and Anti Pad settings from Pad Designer / Modify Design Padstack, just change the constraints and update the shapes.

    Wow!.

Thank you very much. I was so worried about it. Yes, you're right. It's better to use positive shapes instead of negative ones. However, I am wondering where in Constraint Manager I can define Thermal/Anti? I couldn't find it!. Would you please advise?

    Thanks a million,

    Hossein
