3d Canvas

When I am in 3d canvas view I will try to export a step file. However; in the 3d canvas mode when I try to export out a step file the system will get to some percentage of export and then lock my pc up.

If I am not in 3d view I can go file>export>step, I am able to export out a step file from my database. This step file is much smaller and does not give the mechanical group all the necessary information.

Is 3d canvas not capable of exporting a larger database.

It's working fine for me but I'm using the latest hotfix S054 so if you are not running 17.2-2016 S054 (check from Help - About) download this and try again. You have to remember that Export Step from the 2d only takes a board outline and step models for the footprints whereas the step export from the 3d canvas has much more detail - hence the larger file. If it's still failing try turning off some objects and see if that helps.
